![]() Getting my juice out in the pub would feel a bit like getting out my packed lunch box and munching away on my own food. I did this mostly out of courtesy really. I supped on water and drank my juice in two stages in the loos, which felt rather furtive. I went fully juiced up and armed with a litre of juice in my handbag. I accompanied my husband to the pub for most of the day. This thing is getting harder! Sunday was the hardest yet, but that's not surprising considering I faced some obvious challenges. Lesson learned - don't have too much juice (or food) too soon before vigorous excercise! It left me feeling uncomfortable in the stomach all day. Half an hour into the class I had to stop, I felt quite sick and like I needed to do lots of big burps (kaley ones!), not very nice. ![]() So I made a green juice, which happened to be strong with kale, and drank the whole quart. It means that your body is not getting sufficient calories to run with full energy. Also, I have been having less than the recommended full 8 pints of juice each day and was reminded on that if you don't have enough juice you are actually juice FASTING and not juice FEASTING which changes the physiology going on. However, I thought that juice would "go down" much faster than solid food. ![]() Usually if I was eating solid food I w ouldn't eat less than two hours before a vigorous workout. I felt the need for some juice for energy and wondered whether or not I had time. This left me with less than an hour to make it to the Body Combat class that I wanted to attend. I learned a valuable lesson yesterday. It was Day 12 of my Juice Feast and I had managed to make time in the morning to do an enema. My username is Sally Sav if you want to check out my progress. I have set my personal running goals and am pretty sure that this new gimmick will in fact be a good motivator and get me out in the fresh air running for my LIFE! My first workout was good (blooming cold and windy though!). So I am successfully on my way now, having callibrated a device that actually works. Each time I ran a lap to callibrate it, it told me that the distance travelled did not match the distance selected! My 0.25 mile was only registering as 0.09 mile and that just wouldn't do! This is the second one I've tried, the first one seemed to be on a mission to make me run around the athletics track until my head exploded in frustration. Pretty clever, but only if it is callibrated to your own running stride. At the end of each workout you can download the information to your computer and the Nike+ website (see link below). The sensor detects motion and sends a signal to the ipod, which then calculates how far and fast you are running. It wirelessly links to a sensor which you wear on your running shoe. ![]() Just to explain in case you don't know what a Nikeplus is. I'm sure you know what an ipod is, well the Nikeplus is a small device that connects to your ipod. I finally managed to callibrate my ipod Nikeplus (Hurray!!!!). ![]()
